If you love real Mexican flavors this place is the real deal. The food and meats were high quality and the dishes were flavourful. The tortilla chips were also thick and fresh. They had a lot of salsas depending on your flavour profile. Ask for the green one which absolutely slaps. Amazing concept!!!! Please try the chivo birria. Would 100 percent recommend

Taqueria Acapulco is a great Mexican place on the square. They give you chips and salsa to start which were great. We were there for an early dinner on Saturday hoping to get the Birria, but they did not have it. We had the Tinga Quesadilla and the Enchiladas instead, both were good. The quesadilla is a great size for the price, and I enjoyed the cheese, lettuce, and tomato being on the top rather than inside. I had never had a fried quesadilla, but the crunch was nice. The enchiladas were also filled with chicken that was flavorful, but the sauce was a bit overpowering. It came with a very small side of rice which was seasoned well. I don’t think I’d get them again because they were expensive for what you get… overall the experience was good - friendly staff, lots of tables including outside seating, and good food.

You’ll be dreaming about the Quesa Birria!!! The rice and beans remind me of my grandma’s… delic and comforting and the horchata and hibiscus tea is divine! Love me some authentic Mexican food! The staff is very friendly and makes sure you leave happy!

My favorite taco place in Bloomington. Birria with a choice of goat if you want it. I've lived in neighborhoods with many taquerias in Chicago and Brooklyn and this place would hold its own in both.

Run, dont walk, to the best Mexican food in town! We have been bereft of good options since leaving California in 2010. But that ended today! Super fresh ingredients with attention to details - warm chips, homemade everything, and well seasoned/marinated meats. Excellent authentic options full of flavor without being too spicy (although they have options for that). I had the huaraches - a masa "boat" with beans pressed into it and then fried and topped with steak, lettuce, tomato, crema, avocado and queso fresco. My companion had a chivo (roasted goat) taco and a chicken tamale. Both were some of the best we've ever had. The tamale was large but perfectly cooked, steamed in banana leaves instead of corn husks - not too dry, not too moist and tender. The chicken was also moist and full of flavor with green chiles - spicy but doable for most. Everything was on point, including the horchata. Service was friendly and efficient, pricing was reasonable and portions generous. Can't wait to return - I want to try their sopes, tortas and enchiladas. Que bueno!

Fabulous little restaurant on the courthouse square in Bloomington. The food was outstanding and Jeremy provided most excellent customer service. This was our first visit and we can’t wait to come back again.

Wanted to try a different Mexican restaurant in town and Taqueria Acapulco did not disappoint! The quesabirria rivaled the best in Indianapolis and they had the best variety of truly authentic Mexican food in Bloomington. The restaurant itself is small with little seating but it wasn't busy and appears they mostly have takeout, but that could be inaccurate since it was a Thursday night. They had a changing table in the bathroom and two highchairs available for those of us who are mildly anxious mommas :) we will definitely be back!!
